We’re A Bit Obsessed With Making You Transfer Ready.
For These Majors, Planning Really Matters.

Some FIU majors are designated as Limited Access, which means they have limited space, clinical facilities, equipment, etc., and thereby require additional admission criteria such as a competitive GPA, an audition, portfolio, or entrance exam. Other majors require Academic Progression Standards that consider performance in prerequisite courses critical to success in upper-division coursework. Teacher preparatory programs are also included below per their state mandated 2.5 minimum GPA requirement for admission.

Knowing exactly what is required for admission and success in these majors will help you plan ahead. Students who do not meet admission or progression requirements, but who meet the minimum 2.0 GPA for transfer admission, can be admitted to other majors. We have many options where you can thrive!

Transfer students are expected to earn the AA degree (from a Florida public institution) and complete all prerequisite courses prior to transfer. For a list of prerequisites, by major, view our Transfer Guides.
GPA requirements for admission are cumulative (all grades combined). Note that some majors require a higher GPA for prerequisite courses.
