We’ll help you get your application started. Depending on the program, additional documents or secondary applications are needed to complete the university application.
Tuition and Waivers
FIU is dedicated to keeping higher education accessible to all. That’s why our financial aid office awards more than $180 million in financial aid each year.
Some employers may offer tuition assistance/reimbursement, which can lower the cost of tuition. Reimbursement may be available after a course or degree completion. An employer may pay tuition directly to the University through Third Party Billing. Check with your employer about tuition assistance opportunities.
Financial Aid
About 89 percent of full-time undergraduate students at FIU receive some type of aid. Financial aid can be broken into two groups: need-based and merit-based.
Need-based is determined by your financial situation as calculated by your FAFSA application. Merit-based is determined by your test scores, GPA and other factors such as essays or achievements.
Graduate Student Aid
Fellowships and assistantships are available to fund graduate studies while conducting research or performing other professional development responsibilities. These opportunities are offered through individual programs of study and in coordination with the University Graduate School. Competitive graduate scholarships are also available to students who enroll full-time.
