Students with an AA Degree from a Florida Public College/University
- Automatically satisfy FIU’s University Core Curriculum (UCC)
- Awarded a maximum of 60 lower-division credits toward the bachelor’s degree
NOTE: Students with General Education requirements met from a Florida public college/university automatically satisfy the UCC. Submit an official hard copy transcript noting the “Gen Ed Met” designation.
Students with an AS Degree from a Florida Public College/University
- Satisfy the UCC per statewide common courses and/or course-by-course equivalencies
- Awarded a maximum of 60 lower-division credits toward the bachelor’s degree
NOTE: Students with an AS degree generally require between 12-15 credits of General Education/UCC courses upon transfer. Students must complete any pending FIU UCC requirements. Meet with your academic advisor for course selection.
You may still be required to complete prerequisites in your major before enrolling in upper-division courses, even if you satisfy the UCC and transfer with 60 credits.
